The 2019 NFL trade deadline was Tuesday but it was a quiet day as only Aqib Talib was traded in a salary dump move by the Los Angeles Rams. However, on Monday, the Miami Dolphins traded Kenyan Drake to the Arizona Cardinals for a conditional sixth-round draft pick. On Thursday night, Drake had his best game of the year, totaling 19 touches for 162 scrimmage yards. The San Francisco 49ers won the game 28-25 but the game was much closer than the 9.5 or 10 points the road team was favored by.

Thursday night’s game between the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings wasn’t as entertaining as we had hoped. The Vikings won the game 19-9 as the two teams combined for just one touchdown but seven field goals. In most places, the line was Vikings -16.5 and they didn’t come close to covering it. Despite Case Keenum leaving the game at halftime because of a concussion, the Vikings outscored the Redskins by just three points in the second half. Needless to say, anyone who backed the Vikings -16.5 was left very disappointed in Kirk Cousins and the Vikings’ effort in the second half.

The entire NFL world was silent as reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes suffered a dislocated knee cap Thursday night against the Denver Broncos. Thankfully, the MRI results yesterday reportedly show no further damage and Mahomes should return later this season. With Mahomes out of the game, everyone who bet the Broncos +3 was feeling great about their odds to cash their ticket. However, the Broncos’ offense fell apart after the opening drive and the Chiefs went on to easily win 30-6.

Hopefully, if you bet the Patriots -17 on Thursday night you didn’t panic and hedge your bets after their slow start as the Patriots won 35-14. However, the original over/under was set at 43 in most spots and the over hit thanks to Tom Brady’s second rushing touchdown of the game, which came with just under four minutes left in the contest.
