NHL DFS DraftKings Ice Picks October 17th, 2019

Welcome in to another edition of Ice Picks. A nice nine-gamer on tap for us tonight. The slate has been trimmed down here to three games, Boston and Tampa is also on my radar but isn’t featured. (We should have some exposure to that game too as they are arguably the best two teams in the East). Teams with the best match-ups are as follows: Vegas at home to the Senators, Calgary home to the Red Wings and the Rangers at the bottom feeders, the New Jersey Devils. Metropolitan Division Post Deadline Review

Two surprise teams sit atop the top three spots in the Metropolitan Division in the New York Islanders and the Carolina Hurricanes with the Washington Capitals right there at the top with them. The Pittsburgh Penguins are just a single point away from third and the Columbus Blue Jackets are three points away with a game in hand on each of them.  The Philadelphia Flyers are now slipping away, they are seven points back from playoff contention. The New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils round out the division and have been out of the playoff picture for a good portion of the season.  Let’s go over each team’s situation for the rest of this season and beyond.

Columbus Blue Jackets Acquire Keith Kinkaid, Adam McQuaid In Separate Deals

The Columbus Blue Jackets continue to make huge splashes in the trade market as the team announced today that they have acquired goaltender Keith Kinkaid from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a 2022 fifth round pick. Also today, the Blue Jackets acquired defenseman Adam McQuaid from the New York Rangers in exchange for defenseman Julius Bergman, a 2019 fourth-round pick, and a 2019 seventh round pick.

The Chicago Blackhawks have made a trade with the New York Rangers. While it may seem like an interesting one, Darren Raddysh was traded from the AHL Rockford IceHogs to the Hartford Wolf Pack for Peter Holland.

The Jets/Bruins has the chance of being a high event game, followed by Flyers/Rangers and Sabres/Blue Jackets to round out the card. Let’s get to it!
