Welcome back to part two of my “Players who are likely to break out in 2019” series. For this article, I will be giving one player for each team that I think will have a breakout season. The list will go in alphabetical order so that it’s easier to find your team. Also, if I mentioned someone in part one, they will not be mentioned again in part two. For years the Astros were the punching bag of the MLB. Then the farm system graduated up to the majors. George Springer, Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, and many others helped the Astros become one of the best teams in baseball, and 2017 World Series champions. They made trades to bring in players that would leave most team’s farm systems depleted……not the Astros. Here is a look at the five best players in the Astros system that will help them win games and championships for years.
As of writing this, Bryce Harper has yet to make a decision or announce where he will be playing baseball this year. The latest news on the rumor mill has the Nationals out of contention for his services. If you personally know the writer of this article, then you know what kind of luck he has. It’s a pretty good bet that right after this releases Harper will announce his decision and any assumptions made or references to Harper will be null and void. Planning accordingly, there will be no other mentions of Harper beyond this point. Instead, we will only be looking at his potential future teammates, replacements, or counterparts.

Since the 2016 season when Billy Eppler took over the Angels organization, their farm system has only gotten better and better. After a Rookie of the Year campaign from 2018 No. 1 overall MLB prospect Shohei Ohtani, the Angels are looking for similar debuts from their next line of prospects. With Mike Trout most likely entering free agency after the 2019 season, LA’s grooming of their top prospects will be very important for years to come if they can’t resign Trout. They aren’t necessarily loaded, but they have good top 10-15 prospects. Now let’s get into it!
The Baltimore Orioles are coming off a terrible season, one of the worst in recent memory for any team, and while the club is still a way away from being competitive, the future is undoubtedly bright. Headlined by (2) Tier 1 and (2) Tier 2 prospects along with one of the strongest off-seasons in recent memory, the future is bright in Philly and their fan base has hope again. They don’t have many holes that will raise eyebrows for their World Series defense in 2019. So what does their farm system actually look like? Who is left?
