After blowing a lead to the Chicago Bears in Week 1, the Detroit Lions wanted to get off to a hot start against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. With Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark out, the Lions ran the ball early and often which led to a 14-3 lead in the first quarter. Rodgers and the Packers offense responded with 31 unanswered points on their way to another dominating performance.

No, not the fight song, simply a rallying tune. Of course, like any Cowboys-related content, it’s been memed. Whether or not it’s funny is up to the reader.
The Lions came into this game thinking that a Chicago offense lead by Mitchell Trubisky would at least put a band-aid on the problems that were on the defensive side. It turned out not to be true. While Trubisky only threw for 145 yards, the Lions secondary allowed him to throw for three touchdowns, and that’s all the Bears needed in a 20-13 victory over Detroit.
At 2-3-1, division and/or playoff hopes seem far-fetched. Not many teams, if any, come back from 2-5 (or 2-4-1) to play meaningful football in January. But, .500 teams after week eight still have a chance, and the Lions had a chance to get back into the race with that record.
We have another primetime divisional matchup. The Green Bay Packers are looking to win and stay on top of the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North. The Detroit Lions need to win or they will drop to the last place in the division. Here are my top players in this Monday Night NFC North slugfest.

Ah yes, it was a duel of top-tier QBs in Detroit this afternoon. Matthew Stafford took on Patrick Mahomes in a battle that Lions fans won’t forget, but may want to. A day that looked promising early, and even late, turned for the worse as Darrel Williams crossed the goal line to seal the deal for the Chiefs.

The Eagles and Doug Pederson were led by Nick Foles after a Carson Wentz injury forced the team to change quarterback hands. They were led to a Super Bowl, something Lions have hoped just to get to since the Lombardi Trophy Era started.
After a tie in Week 1, a supercharge is what the Lions needed to help them through a long season. They got it in their home opener at Ford Field. Not a ton of points were scored by the Darrell Bevell offense, but a win is a win, and the Lions got just that in a 13-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Here are three takeaways for the Lions from this first victory of the season-
You read that right. The Lions did what the NFL is trying so desperately to make impossible, end a game in a tie. After taking a 24-6 lead into the 4th quarter, the Cardinals rallied back to send the game to Overtime. A pair of field goals evened the score at 27, and the game ended there.

Kyler Murray, Kirk Cousins, Derek Carr, and Aaron Rodgers, just to name a few. To take down these men and take on the challenge of winning the NFC North, you must have a sound 53-man roster. 6-10 tells me there’s a lot of work to do, and I’m sure it says the same to my fellow readers. However, let’s become familiar with the roster that will be with us for this 2019 season.
