2019 Fantasy Football Week Eight: Starts, Sits, and Sleepers

Well back again to go into week eight of the NFL season and you’re either sitting comfortably or barley hanging on hope to get into the playoffs.  To help fantasy football players with their roster construction, three of our writers have provided some insight on which players they would start, would sit, and consider a sleeper for week eight. Week Eight NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

Thursday night’s game between the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings wasn’t as entertaining as we had hoped. The Vikings won the game 19-9 as the two teams combined for just one touchdown but seven field goals. In most places, the line was Vikings -16.5 and they didn’t come close to covering it. Despite Case Keenum leaving the game at halftime because of a concussion, the Vikings outscored the Redskins by just three points in the second half. Needless to say, anyone who backed the Vikings -16.5 was left very disappointed in Kirk Cousins and the Vikings’ effort in the second half.

Saints vs Texans: Key Matchups

Tonight the New Orleans Saints open up their 2019 season against the Houston Texans. The last time these two teams met was in November of 2015. In that game in Houston, the Saints managed only two field goals and the Texans got two touchdown passes from Brian Hoyer (to Ryan Griffin and Cecil Shorts) and a touchdown run by Alfred Blue to secure the 24-6 victory. New Orleans also hasn’t won their opener since 2013. Tonight will be a bit different.
