July 5th, 2019 will go down as one of the wildest days for the state of California in history. Coming off its second earthquake in as many days, the NBA’s prime summer league game between Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans verse R.J. Barrett and the New York Knicks was stopped and ultimately suspended because of safety concerns due to the earthquake. Who would have guessed an earthquake stopping a Las Vegas summer league would have been only the third biggest NBA story of the day!
After what has proven to be the longest and most overblown free agency decision in years, if ever, Kawhi Leonard, Friday night finally made his decision. Leonard signed for Los Angeles and not the LA team most of the world is familiar with. In a decision that left media pundits, social media and the world in hysteria. Leonard signed with the Los Angeles Clippers in what can be described as stunning fashion.
Early this morning, it was confirmed by Adrian Wojnarowski that Kawhi Leonard has chosen to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers, spurning the rival Los Angeles Lakers and the defending champion Toronto Raptors. Later that same minute, Wojnarowski reported that the Oklahoma City Thunder are trading Paul George to L.A. for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari, five first-round picks, and swap rights for two other draft picks.

Wow is all I can say. As a person who lives in Canada and has people who said “This is the most important moment in Canadian Sports since the Toronto Blue Jays were in the World Series 26 years ago”, I cannot state how much this championship means to the country of Canada and it’s loyal and well deserving fans. The raw emotion spewing from “Jurassic Park”, the Raptors fan hangout area in Toronto was electric and fascinating to experience. All I can say to this championship is “Oh Canada”! In this article we will go over to the journey the Raptors took to get here and the trials they experienced, through the perspective of a Canadian.
It all comes down to this. Sixteen teams entered. Just two teams remain. The Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors have emerged as the best team from their respective conferences, and now it’s time to figure out which team is the best team in the entire league. To reflect on this crazy postseason and preview the Finals, a few of our scribes have to come together to talk about it.
