September 18, 2011, Saint-Jean-d’Angély, France. That was the last time a United States Motocross Des Nations entry won it all. Since then it’s been nothing but shortcomings or simply just the red white and blue not being able to send their best possible team.
It felt like Ken Roczen’s days at Honda HRC were numbered for a while now. With the rise of the Lawrence Brothers in the 250 class, and Chase Sexton becoming a bonified superstar this summer, that feeling only grew with time.
Jett Lawrence’s 2022 has been nothing short of impeccable. Earlier this year, he picked up his first 250 Regional Supercross Championship a few rounds early in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
The penultimate round of AMA Pro Motocross took things to the outskirts of Indianapolis and Ironman MX. Once the finale for a half-dozen-year stretch, the facility has since bounced around the final third of the schedule, but still remains the final east coast venue.
The final true east coast round of AMA Pro Motocross was held at the famed Budds Creek facility just south of Washington D.C. After this it’s just Ironman then Pala again, then the season is a wrap.
Two weeks of vacation are now in the books and the AMA Pro Motocross season is back for the final stretch of the year. Kicking things off would be one of the crown jewels of American Motocross in the hills of Unadilla, New York.
After some incredible racing at Millville, AMA Pro Motocross shifted back to the west coast. More specifically the Pacific Northwest and Washougal, Washington. Heading into a double bye week, momentum was at a premium going into the final four rounds.
The seventh round of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross brought things to Millville, Minnesota. A literal backyard home event for the Martin Brothers, Alex, and Jeremy (on commentary this weekend), and the defacto home event for the returning Ryan Dungey.
America’s biggest sandbox in Southwick, Massachusetts played host to the sixth round of the AMA Pro Motocross season this weekend.
After a week break, the second leg of the AMA Motocross tilt began on Saturday with the annual trip to RedBud. Arguably the biggest National of the year on Fourth of July weekend has been a true staple on the schedule for decades.
The AMA Pro Motocross season has officially migrated east. Round four of the Championship went down just outside of Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania at High Point.
