Last week, Tim Gajser wrapped up his fourth MXGP World Championship in Finland over Jeremy Seewer. Although that is all settled, the MX2 Championship, unequivocally the better of the two this year, is still very much alive.
It was becoming abundantly clear that Tim Gajser was going to clinch this year’s MXGP World Championship with rounds in hand. The ultimate question then became how early would that happen.
Now in the final four rounds of the MXGP season, a mini tour of Scandinavia kicked off the end of the season, starting in Sweden. Uddevalla hadn’t been on the schedule in nearly three years due to the pandemic, with Glenn Coldenhoff and Tom Vialle coming out on top in 2019.
Few, if any Motocross tracks carry the reputation that Lommel does anywhere in the world. The deep sanded course has been a staple on the World Motocross circuit for decades and has played host to multiple Motocross Des Nations.
The MXGP season resumed after a double-bye week at the Czech Republic’s Loket circuit. Here, the real push towards Championships and the Motocross Des Nations really begins, with seven GP’s plus a trip to RedBud in just under a dozen-week span.

MXGP is back in Europe after their lone round in the Americas prior to Des Nations in the fall. As the most recent round in Argentina, the GP of Portugal was the first stop in the country in some time, since 2019 to be exact.
