The Detroit Tigers are heading into 2022 with high expectations in a weak American League Central. They are a young team and may be a year or two away, but that didn’t stop General Manager Al Avila from bringing in a few veterans.

If you were to describe the New York Mets 2021 season in one word, it would be disappointing. With a hot start to the season, the Mets grabbed first place in their division and didn’t give it up for 103 days.
The Chicago Cubs cleaned house last year in Jed Hoyer’s first season as GM. What will he do to accelerate this rebuild and get the Cubbies back into contention?
The New York Mets entered the 2021 season with heightened expectations. Steve Cohen came in as the team’s new owner and immediately made an impact. He traded for Francisco Lindor and locked him up. However, the season would end as the last five seasons have ended: without a playoff berth.
We recently saw the week of the Arizona Diamondbacks play out. It was not that special of a week, just a really bad team winning against some good teams. The New York Mets must have seen the week of Arizona and thought, “we can do better.” And boy, did they.
The Chicago Cubs won the World Series in 2016 and it looked like they were starting a long run of playing in October annually. Fast forward six years and their core is gone.
The New York Mets have been one of the oddest teams in baseball this season. After a change in ownership prior to the offseason, their mantra changed quite a bit and was expected to be one of the most aggressive teams in spending and trading.
There are a few options on the market for the New York Mets. One, however, seems like a perfect fit.
