Corrigan's Gambling Corner: MLB Best Bets

Hello, and welcome back to the gambling corner. Basketball season is officially over and we will now shift our focus to baseball. Luckily for me, and for you if you are tailing my picks, baseball is one of my best sports and I am ready to bet on a full slate today. Let’s sit back, relax, and win ourselves some money on this beautiful Saturday.

The Very Best Bet: Tigers vs Royals U/10 (-105)

While the Tigers have been very profitable on the Moneyline since the start of the second half of the season, the under is the very obvious play when you hear these stats.

The under has hit in four out of Detriot’s last six and the under is 45-49-4 the whole season. In the Royals’ last nine home games, the under has hit in six of those games and the Royals are 45-42-7 against the total this season. The most convincing stat is that the under has hit in 12 out of the last 17 matchups between these two teams. Considering that the run total is in the double digits, and the current run total trends pointing towards the under, this is the best play on the board today.

Best Value: A’s -1.5 (+130) vs Mariners

There are two reasons for this pick. The first being the A’s are the third-best team ATS this season at 55-43. Secondly, the -130 is very appealing to one of the best teams ATS. Not only are the A’s one of the best teams to bet on this season, but they also hold the league’s best record ATS on the road this season with a 29-15 record.

Now, you might be saying to yourself, well aren’t the Mariners one of the top team’s ATS this year as well? Yes, with a 53-43 record ATS this season, the Mariners are also a good team to bet on this season. However, I trust the A’s with Chris Bassitt on the mound, and so should you. This pick is all about the value. The A’s being a powerhouse ATS is just an added bonus.

Other Best Bet: Diamondbacks vs Cubs ML (-150)

In the past few days, it has become clear to me that betting the ML in baseball is the best way to make some serious cash. So why don’t we go ahead and fade the actual worst team in baseball?

While the Diamondbacks are 4-1 in their last five SU, they are 2-18 SU in their last 20 road games and 1-5 in their last six against the Cubs. Now, the Cubs are on a skid themselves and are getting very close to blowing up this team. This seems like the last hurrah for Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, and Javier Baez all playing together for the Cubs. If you believe in storylines, like me, the Cubs will do everything to send these guys out with a bang, and playing the Diamondbacks gives them the best chance to do just that.

Bonus UFC Fight Night Best Bet: Corey Sandhagen By TKO or Sub (-110) vs T.J. Dillashaw

With a six-inch height advantage paired with three more inches of reach, Sandhagen has the clear advantage over the former bantamweight champ. Now, when I say former bantamweight champ, I mean Dillashaw has been on a sharp decline for years and he is over two years removed from competition due to a global pandemic and a PED suspension.

Sandhagen has all the measurables and with his ability to strike you from any position, a washed-up Dillashaw is in for a world of trouble. This one will not make it the distance and Sandhagen should make light work of this fight.
