Tom Vialle is of course set to join the likes of Ken Roczen, Dylan Ferrandis, and Marvin Musquin as those who jumped to the AMA circuit from MXGP. However, before the French Red Bull KTM rider makes the trek to the United States, he had an MX2 Championship to settle in Turkey.
Last week, Tim Gajser wrapped up his fourth MXGP World Championship in Finland over Jeremy Seewer. Although that is all settled, the MX2 Championship, unequivocally the better of the two this year, is still very much alive.
Now in the final four rounds of the MXGP season, a mini tour of Scandinavia kicked off the end of the season, starting in Sweden. Uddevalla hadn’t been on the schedule in nearly three years due to the pandemic, with Glenn Coldenhoff and Tom Vialle coming out on top in 2019.
Few, if any Motocross tracks carry the reputation that Lommel does anywhere in the world. The deep sanded course has been a staple on the World Motocross circuit for decades and has played host to multiple Motocross Des Nations.
The MXGP season resumed after a double-bye week at the Czech Republic’s Loket circuit. Here, the real push towards Championships and the Motocross Des Nations really begins, with seven GP’s plus a trip to RedBud in just under a dozen-week span.
After a week off and an unfathomable amount of travel miles and expenses, MXGP touched ground in Indonesia this weekend. This flyaway trip marks the second of two of such MXGP rounds, and the lone trip to Asia this year.
The MXGP season was off to Germany on Sunday after a tense weekend in France. Jeremy Seewer, who led a 450 rider boycott of the qualifying race, ended up winning the day afterward with a strong run.
Few Motocross courses on the planet can stack up with the famed Ernee facility in France. A host to multiple Motocross Des Nations, and a few several dozen MXGP rounds, the hillside track may be the best in the world.
Round nine of the 2022 MXGP season took place in the backyard of both Jorge Prado and Ruben Fernandez in central Spain. Two months ago, Prado won a hop, skip, and a jump away over in Portugal, and last won in Spain in 2020.
Once again, Italy was the host of an MXGP round, but this time in the sands of Sardegna. Quite the contrast in track surface and atmosphere than last weekend in Maggiora.
