Florida Panthers at Calgary Flames could provide offensive fireworks for us, this game, as well as Detroit Red Wings at Winnipeg Jets, have a combined team total of 6.5 goals. The other game I have my eye on is the Pittsburgh Penguins at Anaheim Ducks with a 6 goal implied total attached.
15-year veteran Rick Nash has retired following concerns over concussion issues. Nash was drafted first overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
This year has been a rollercoaster ride for the Chicago Blackhawks and their fans. One of those rides that only seem like they belong at Cedar Point, or watching the Dow Jones go up and down. In the post-season, Colorado took it to heavy favorites Nashville Predators, but they fell short in Game 6 loss at the Pepsi Center in Denver when the Preds closed out the series with a resounding 4-0 victory.
After such a monster slate we usually get a pretty dumbed down schedule and that’s just what is in store for us tonight. Three games to choose from, in order of games I like, Colorado at Calgary, Nashville at Chicago, and Ottawa at Anaheim.
Pittsburgh Penguins won eight straight games going to Sunday night, but as soon as they learned Their opponent would be, the Penguins knew the streak would come to an end. The Blackhawks defeated the Penguins for tenth straight time and in comeback fashion. The Pens scored two early goals to jump to a 2-0 lead, but Chicago came back to win 5-3 to offer a little bit of consolation for fans from Windy City.
Marian Hossa announced his retirement from active playing career past May, but that doesn‘t mean Hossa refuses to return to the NHL. The Slovakian power-forward won three Stanley Cups in his career, all of them with Chicago.
Six game slate for Sunday. Two games at 4 p.m., two games at 5 p.m., and you guessed it, two games at 8 p.m. All times eastern. My focus will be players from Vegas, Dallas/Winnipeg, Washington/Detroit, and Chicago/Pittsburgh.
The Boston Bruins have been relying on immense depth at the blue line this season, just to tread water in the Atlantic division race.
In their last 15 games, the Wild have won just five times. Just two teams have been worse than the Wild in the meantime and they are the Colorado Avalanche and Arizona Coyotes. After a very strong start to the season, the Wild are struggling and seemingly cannot catch a break.
