The Los Angeles Rams made it a point to retool this offseason in hopes of returning to the Super Bowl. One of the major pickups for last year’s NFC Champions was former Baltimore Ravens safety Eric Weddle. Especially when his peers go on to vote him as one of the Top 100 players in the NFL.
The 2018 NFL season for the Washington Redskins was a roller coaster of highs and lows. The team ended up starting four different quarterbacks because of injury and poor play. The rest of the team couldn’t avoid the injury bug either, as the Redskins were signing free agent offensive linemen during the season and starting them that Sunday. The team finished 7-9 and missed the playoffs by two games. Alex Smith broke his leg in a gruesome injury in week 11 verse the Houston Texans. The Redskins were 6-3 entering that game but went on to struggle on offense to close out the season, only picking up one win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in week 15, winning 16-13.
Earlier today the NFL announced that the Kansas City Chiefs star wide receiver Tyreek Hill would not be suspended after being investigated for domestic violence this offseason. Whether you agree or disagree with this decision, whether you are a fan of the NFL’s personal conduct policy or not, the reality is Hill is allowed to take part in training camp next week and play in all 16 games this season. The Denver Broncos are coming off a second consecutive losing season, going 6-10, the first time thatβs happened to the franchise since 1971-72. The key to their failures over the last two years: coaching. It has been atrocious at best. Bad schemes that consistently misuse players talent, as well as terrible game management, were the ultimate problems that sunk the Broncos last year. After missing the playoffs for the third straight year, under a brand-new coaching regime led by Vic Fangio, the Broncos are looking to right the ship and go back to being a perennial playoff team.
FOOTBALL IS BACK BABY! Well almost back. In just over seven weeks, the NFL kicks off its 100th season with a matchup between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers. These next seven weeks can’t go by fast enough. However, training camp officially kicks off today for the Denver Broncos with all the other teams to start within the next or so. In the meantime, the Scorecrow family has started a mini-series with a handful of writers giving you their opinions on NFL questions; five at a time. Be sure to follow all of the writers on twitter and ask any questions you may have regarding their answers. Without any further ado, let’s get into it.
