2019 Fantasy Football Week Eight: IDP Report

I don’t know if it was just me, but week seven felt weird. Lots of stuff happened on the offensive side that you just can’t explain. Patrick Mahomes suffered a knee injury that had fantasy owners gasping for air like a punch to the gut. Though it seems he will only miss a few weeks. Alvin Kamara didn’t play and if you didn’t stash Latavius Murray, you felt the pain from that. Then the David Johnson debacle, Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury came out after the game infuriating DJ owners saying he was only going to be used in “emergency” situations. So, Chase Edmonds had a career day while he sat on many benches like mine.

Los Angeles Rams New-Look Defense Shines in Win over Atlanta Falcons

The Los Angeles Rams finally broke their streak of three consecutive losses with a resounding win over the Atlanta Falcons. It was a win they got on the strength of their new-look defense. The 37-10 win in Atlanta was the first for the Rams dating back to 2001.

The story of week seven was the re-emergence of Aaron Rodgers as an elite fantasy quarterback. This week features an absolute smash spot for Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans. We’ll also see Kirk Cousins look to continue his hot streak in a revenge game against the Washington Redskins. In most fantasy football leagues, we’re over halfway to the playoffs. So, depending on your record, you’re either looking forward to the playoffs or you’re fighting to get in. If it’s the former, congratulations, if not, let’s get to work. The wire has one screaming candidate, but for the most part, it’s fairly slim pickings. As always, make sure to check for players who are more owned first.

Week 8 Fantasy Streamers

Week seven of the NFL season got off to a scary start when the Kansas City Chiefs lost Patrick Mahomes on Thursday night with a dislocated knee injury in their win against the Denver Broncos. Thankfully, Mahomes is expected to just miss a few weeks and will likely be back after the team’s week 12 bye. In the meanwhile, fantasy owners can’t drop Mahomes and since you spent the early draft capital on him, you likely didn’t draft a second quarterback. The best way to try and fill his shoes is to stream the position. As part of this week’s streamers, I will give you a few options to replace Mahomes with for this week.

The entire NFL world was silent as reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes suffered a dislocated knee cap Thursday night against the Denver Broncos. Thankfully, the MRI results yesterday reportedly show no further damage and Mahomes should return later this season. With Mahomes out of the game, everyone who bet the Broncos +3 was feeling great about their odds to cash their ticket. However, the Broncos’ offense fell apart after the opening drive and the Chiefs went on to easily win 30-6.
