There’s been a lot of forgotten or looked over champions in NBA History, so today I’ll jog your memories on some of the most impressive but looked over Championship teams and why they’re so looked over. These teams were both underrated on their way to the championship and are still underrated to this day or just flat out forgotten.
The Detroit Pistons have been seemingly in a state of purgatory in the NBA. Since the Chauncey Billups trade in 2008, the Pistons have not had a pick inside the top seven. And, to show how Detroit’s draft picks have done since then, said seventh pick was Greg Monroe. Although Andre Drummond has had some success in Motown, almost every other draft pick has had to find a different home to pan out… if they did. So, with the past questionable draft history in mind, let’s take a look at how Detroit did this year.
The Bucks and Pistons will top off game one of their playoff matchup Sunday night in Milwaukee. The path each team took to get here has been very different. The Bucks have dominated the Eastern Conference from the very start of the season. Whereas, Detroit lost 7 of the final 11 games, just barely making the cut, winning their final two games of the year. While both teams rely on their stars to help them win games, both teams will need steady contributions from others to help them through the playoffs.
Here are my four takeaways from Sunday’s 117-109 loss to the Toronto Raptors.
Here are my four takeaways from Wednesday’s 108-74 victory over the Detroit Pistons
On Tuesday the Los Angeles Lakers agreed to trade rookie Svi Mykhailiuk and a 2021 second-round pick to the Detroit Pistons for Reggie Bullock.
It’s easy to forget that, just two short years ago, Avery Bradley was both the second option offensively for a contending team and one of the consensus best perimeter defenders in the world.
The NBA trade deadline is just around the corner and the rumor machine is on fire. While most teams won’t make a deal, each will consider many options between now and the February 7th deadline. In a six part series, I will provide one trade each NBA team should consider making between now and the trade deadline. The Central division is up next and here is trade each team should make.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been awful without LeBron James and Rajon Rondo. If that wasn’t bad enough; Kyle Kuzma has been out for the past two games as well. They were not able to win a game last week.
This week’s spotlight is shining on a fifth-year pro out of Colorado PG. Spencer Dinwiddie was a Second Round Pick (38th Overall) back in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons. It has not been an easy road for Spencer up until this point.
I wanted to highlight some games in the upcoming week for all us basketball fans to keep a look out for. Here’s a breakdown of the top matchups. Stay Tuned
