The Silly Season had a handful of important driver shuffles, the most notable being the signing of Kyle Larson to Hendricks Motorsports. We’d also get the announcement of a brand-new team partnership between former NBA Player Michael Jordan and NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin.
Due to Kyle Busch winning at Texas, it still leaves three slots open for next weekends finale at Phoenix. Now, it is onto Martinsville, VA, to wrap up the round of eight. Known for being the shortest track in the Cup Series, Martinsville Speedway is bound to offer plenty of suspense as those final seven drivers scratch and claw for those three remaining spots.
The NASCAR Playoffs have officially begun. Last week Kevin Harvick was able to pick up the victory and lock himself into the round of 12. The next two races of the first round will be at short tracks. This weekend at Richmond followed by Bristol. Richmond will be a pivotal race for all the playoff drivers.
