MLB DFS: ALDS Game Two Slate

Today we have a couple of Game Twos. I will run down the players who should return value and will get you points whether you are playing a Classic matchup or a Showdown. There may be a Captain or two in this group and we know how valuable a cheaper option can be. Let’s get to it.

ALDS Preview: New York Yankees vs Minnesota Twins

Two teams that won over 100 games this season will begin their battle in the Bronx tonight at 7:07 ET. This series should be full of scoring as the Yankees and Twins were #1 and #2 in HRs (Twins 307-Yankees 306) and runs (Yankees 943-Twins 939). The pitching will have to be on point for both sides and mistakes in the field and on the basepaths will give the other side extra outs. Neither team can afford that with the firepower these squads have. Let’s break down the matchup.

Braves vs Cardinals NLDS Preview

In what should be a very tightly series, the Braves and Cardinals face off in the NLDS starting today at 5:02 PM est; the Braves are slight favorites based on Fangraphs projections. Before diving into the key players, matchups, and what to watch for, let’s take a look at the schedule.

2019 AL Wild Card Preview: Well-Matched Teams Set for Unpredictable Battle

The Oakland Athletics have done it again; they find themselves back in the wild card game for the second straight year. Everyone counts them out every year, but they surprised us yet again as they set to matchup against another AL East team in the Tampa Bay Rays (lost to Yankees in last year’s wild card game). The Rays are also a team that finds different ways to win, and they were able to outlast a late surge by Cleveland to lock up a spot in this game. Neither team is one of the “elite” teams, but they still found a way to get a chance to meet up with the Houston Astros in the ALDS.

MLB DFS – AL Wild Card: Showdown Slate

The second of the winner-take-all games starts tonight as the Oakland Athletics host the Tampa Bay Rays to determine who will travel to Houston for the ALDS. In yesterday’s article, Joey Ricotta told you to have Yasmani Grandal as your Captain and he didn’t disappoint. Today we will see if we can call another one. Let’s get to it.

MLB DFS – NL Wild Card Game: Showdown Slate

Let the fun begin. Playoffs? You’re talking about…playoffs? Yes, Jim Mora. Yes, we are. The best time of the year. Soon all four major sports will be playing at the same time. We can go back and forth discussing and arguing whether Major League Baseball should keep its current one-game Wild Card playoff setup, but the fact of the matter is, it’s downright entertaining. It’s exciting to watch two teams fight it out, with it all on the line, in a winner-take-all single-elimination style game. You never know what’s going to happen. The amount of drama and emotion hanging on the balance of every pitch is what makes baseball the greatest game in the world.

We begin with surprise and disappointment teams, then break down the Wild Card games. We also ask, “Should the Wild Card round be one game or a best of 3?”
Afterward, we break down the Division Series and hand out the awards.
Hope you enjoy the show!

MLB Team Recaps- Detroit Tigers

The Detroit Tigers, also known as the team I wrote my debut article about, and the team that’s closest to me had a rough year. To say the least. A season that looked promising turned out to be furthest away from that, and the injury bug had its way with this rebuilding team. Were playoffs in the question? Not necessarily, but was Ron Gardenhire’s team looking for respectability in the American League? Certainly.

In a certain season of trial and error, let’s look at the trials that worked and the errors that occurred

A Farewell To Rick Porcello

With the regular season entering its last day, the Boston Red Sox are about to embark on an offseason full of changes. As they look to return to the postseason in 2020, some difficult goodbyes with impending free agents including Rick Porcello could be on the horizon. Although Porcello has struggled immensely this year, in his last two starts he was in vintage form. With Porcello’s future uncertain, his five-year run in Boston may soon be coming to an end.
