Deep Dive: The Former Top Prospect Mashing the Ball Nine Years Later
When Matt Olson, Matt Chapman, and Sean Manaea were traded, we figured that the Oakland A’s would be pretty bad, even though they always manage to outperform expectations.

Seattle entered this year with a bullpen that looked like one of the worst in the league. By some magic (pitching coach Pete Woodworth?), the Mariners have seen many positive developments in their bullpen.

Their pitching has been dominant as well, as both their team ERA (3.86) and WHIP (1.14) rank fourth and second, respectively.
