The 2018 season for the Los Angeles Chargers and Head Coach Anthony Lynn was a pleasant surprise for Charger fans. Despite missing the playoffs and finishing the 2017 season 9-7, expectations were high for the Chargers and they certainly met them. In 2018, the offense and defense both clicked which culminated in a 12-4 finish and seven Pro Bowlers. Despite losing in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, and the ongoing contract saga of Melvin Gordon (more on that later) expectations for 2019 in Los Angeles are now even higher with talk of possibly even reaching the Franchise’s first Super Bowl since 1994.

The dawn of a new NFL season is almost upon us. The Free Agents have signed their deals, the draft picks have settled into their new teams, and the blockbuster trades are now yesterday’s news. Which leaves the question for the Oakland Raiders, is this finally the year of change?
The Kansas City Chiefs ended 2018 on a sour note losing a close game at home in the AFC Championship Game to the New England Patriots. While it ended on a low, the majority of their campaign was positive, finishing 12-4 on the regular season. The Chiefs also won their first playoff game since 2015 and hosted the AFC Championship Game for the first time in franchise history. Patrick Mahomes won Most Valuable Player and became only the second quarterback in history to throw for 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns, joining only Peyton Manning. The defensive side of the ball was a completely different story, finishing second to last in total yards allowed per game. There were a lot of highs last season, and while it may have finished on a low note, Chiefs fans had to be happy with the beginning of a new era for Chiefs football.
