So close, yet so far.
Coming into the final campaign off three straight Sim City Hoops Conference Finals appearances, the Nets were hoping to make a splash and finally get their first SCH title win. Sitting at 6-17, the final season has been anything but magical.
After starting the season 4-0, the loss of Kevin Durant in free agency started to kick in. Unable to defend late in the fourth quarter coupled with not having that second scorer next to Kyrie Irving drastically hurt the Nets in so many ways. While some games have looked promising (the Nets have actually held fourth-quarter leads in 14 games), finishing the game has been their Achilles’ heel.
Coach LH has been hoping to bring that coveted title to his beloved Nets for so long, but it looks like it may have to wait another season. The looming question as we head into the next season is whether or not LH will get the Nets. Could they instead be managed by another up-and-coming coach?
For now, the playoffs are on the horizon and 16 coaches will be looking for the oh-so-coveted SCH title.
