Revolution Trade Németh to Kansas City

The New England Revolution announced Monday that they traded forward Krisztián Németh to Sporting Kansas City.

In exchange for Németh, New England received $250,000 in Targeted Allocation Money, $100,000 in General Allocation Money, and Kansas City’s 2020 natural first-round pick in the MLS SuperDraft. The Revolution acquired the Hungarian on Aug. 10 of 2017 from the Columbus Crew in exchange $200,000 in Targeted Allocation Money, $200,000 in General Allocation Money and an international roster spot.

Németh never truly found success in the Revolution squad during his short tenure in Foxborough. In 21 MLS appearances for the Revolution, he scored one goal and recorded three assists. In 15 appearances in 2018, Németh made four starts while recording two assists and no goals.

The 29-year-old previously played with Sporting Kansas City in 2015 and he scored 11 goals for the club in 28 league appearances.

With this move, the Revolution freed up one of their international roster spots. This means the club is free to sign an international player before the secondary transfer window closes on Aug. 8.
