The full rebuild has been initiated by Oklahoma City Thunder General Manager Sam Presti.
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Thunder have sent their MVP point guard to the Houston Rockets for Chris Paul and future picks.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to trade Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets for Chris Paul, first-round picks in 2024 and 2026, pick swaps in 2021 and 2025, league sources tell ESPN.

This news comes just days after Paul George demanded a trade to the Los Angeles Clippers, leaving the Thunder roster in limbo. Oklahoma City now has far more first-round picks than anyone in the league for the next seven years.
Westbrook, 30, still had four years remaining on his five-year, $206 million dollar contract. Paul, meanwhile, has only three years left and will be making less money.
Westbrook and James Harden are now reunited in Houston, after playing three years together on the Thunder from 2009-2012.
