Patriots Make Sanu and Bethel Acquisitions Official, Release Safety and Tight End

The New England Patriots have made their two midseason splashes official.

Per Zach Cox of NESN the team needed to open two roster spots and did releasing recently signed Eric Tomlinson and Jordan Richards.

Sanu, 30 is the upgrade at receiver the Patriots and their fans have wanted since the release of Antonio Brown just over a month ago.

With the Atlanta Falcons so far this season, he had 33 catches for 318 yards and a score.

Bethel is considered among experts, pundits, and coaches to be one of the elite special teams player in the NFL, with some considering him the best.

Richards ironically came over from the Falcons to begin his second stint with the Patriots after an abysmal start in Foxboro.

Tominlinson’s release could mean the health of Matt LaCosse and Ryan Izzo has improved.

The team takes on the Cleveland Browns Sunday at 4:15 p.m.
