Reinforcements are on the way for the New England Patriots and their secondary as the team has announced that rookie cornerback Duke Dawson will be returning off of injured reserve.
NFL insider for ESPN Field Yates tweeted the news just minutes ago.
Source: the Patriots have officially activated second-round CB Duke Dawson from IR to the 53-man roster. The team has also released RB Kenjon Barner and LB Nicholas Grigsby.

The Patriots selected Dawson with pick No.56 in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft. During his career in Florida, Dawson played cornerback primarily in the slot where he earned First team-All SEC honors in 2017.
The team now has one more spot they can use to bring back a player off injured reserve which will more than likely be spent on running back Rex Burkhead.
