Ex-49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick filed a lawsuit against the NFL back in the summer of 2018 on the basis that the league was working together to keep him off of an NFL roster for kneeling during the National Anthem.
That case has officially drawn to a conclusion on Friday afternoon, as Kaepernick’s lawyer Mark Geragos released a statement on Twitter.

Due to confidentiality, we will never know the exact dollar value of the settlement between the two parties. However, that hasn’t kept people from speculating the amount.
According to Mike Freeman of B/R, NFL team officials have been telling him the expected payment is ranging between $60 million and $80 million.
Kaepernick hasn’t played an NFL snap since Jan. 1, 2017. A game in which his 49ers lost 25-23 at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks. Kaepernick went 17/22 on pass attempts, totaling 215 yards and one touchdown through the air. However, the Niners fell to 1-10 with him at the helm that year, and he never saw the field again.
Kaepernick reportedly turned down a chance to play in the recently publicized Alliance to American Football (AAF) due to the fact they didn’t offer him the $20 million he was asking for.
