Red Sox Snap Two-Game Losing Streak

The Boston Red Sox put a halt to back-to-back loses with an 8-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays Friday night.

Drew Pomeranz improved to 9-4 on the campaign by hurling 6.0 innings of six-hit, two-run ball, while striking out six.

Pedroia blasted a two run shot in top of the third during a four run inning. This was Pedroia’s third home run of the season.

Ramirez scored his 1,000 run of his career on a ninth-inning solo shot. 

On the night, the Red Sox found themselves leaving only two runners in scoring position.

Xander Bogaerts, who was hit in the first inning of Thursday’s game, didn’t play but is questionable for this weekend.

Next game with see Rick Porcello oppose Alex Cobb on Saturday with a 4:10 p.m. start time.
