Patriots trade TE Jacob Hollister to Seahawks

The Patriots have traded tight end Jacob Hollister to the Seattle Seahawks. In exchange, the Patriots will receive a 2020 seventh-round pick. It was originally expected that this trade was dependent on Hollister making the Seahawks’ roster, however, it was determined that there are no conditions on this trade.

Jacob’s twin brother, Cody, also plays in the NFL. He is currently a free agent. Back in 2017, both Hollister twins were signed as undrafted free agents by the Patriots. Jacob (from the University of Wyoming) made the team and Cody (from the University of Arkansas) was eventually added to the practice squad.

In Jacob’s time in New England, he played in 23 games. Over the course of those games, he hauled in eight receptions for 94 yards, without scoring a touchdown, though.

After this past weekend’s draft, the Patriots added undrafted free agent tight end Andrew Beck from Texas. In addition to Beck, New England has Stephen Anderson, Ryan Izzo, Matt LaCosse, and Austin Seferian-Jenkins on their tight ends depth chart. They did not draft a tight end, instead, they added a wide receiver (N’Keal Harry from Arizona State), two cornerbacks (Joejuan Williams from Vanderbilt and Ken Webster from Ole Miss), two defensive linemen (Chase Winovich from Michigan and Byron Cowart from Maryland), two offensive linemen (Yodny Cajuste from West Virginia and Hjalte Froholdt from Arkansas), as well as a quarterback (Jarrett Stidham from Auburn), a running back (Damien Harris from Alabama), and a punter (Jake Bailey from Stanford).
