Final Score: Raiders 17, Packers 13

In a game that was very evenly matched, three turnovers proved too much to overcome for the Green Bay Packers.

Both defenses played very well on Monday night. Green Bay and Las Vegas held each other to under 40 percent in third-down conversions, and both were able to affect the quarterback. However, Vegas was able to better capitalize by forcing three Jordan Love interceptions, including two by linebacker Robert Spillane.

The Packers, who were without star running back Aaron Jones due to a lingering hamstring injury, still managed to accumulate 110 yards rushing in the contest. However, they only converted one of three red zone opportunities into touchdowns and had to settle for two chip-shot field goals.

The Raiders’ offense, led by Jimmy Garoppolo, managed to score touchdowns on two of their three red zone visits. The first came on a nine-yard pass from Garoppolo to Jakobi Meyers in the second quarter. Josh Jacobs punched in a two-yard run for the Raiders’ second score of the evening to put Las Vegas ahead for good. These successful red zone trips ultimately proved to be the difference in the ball game.

The Raiders improve to 2-3 record on the season, positioning them two games behind the AFC West-leading Chiefs. Meanwhile, the Packers fall to 2-3, which puts them two games behind the Lions in the NFC North.

Highlights

Looking Forward

The Packers will enjoy a bye in Week 6. When they return to action on Oct. 22, Green Bay will travel to Denver to face the Broncos, who just suffered a 31-21 loss to the Jets.

The Raiders will face the Patriots at home next week. New England has been completely overrun in each of their last two games by a total deficit of 72-3.
