Brown has been directed to continue counseling and treatment and any more violations would result in harsher discipline. He had been investigated by the NFL after his former trainer claimed that he had sexually assaulted her. The receiver says that his relationship with his trainer was consensual.
Brown played one game with the New England Patriots last year. The Patriots released him one week later and he hasn’t signed with a team since.
If Brown signs with a team before the regular season, he would be able to participate in preseason activities. The suspension starts on Sept. 5.
