Monday Night Football Week Nine: Cowboys vs Giants DFS

Brandon Braasch | November 4th, 2019

A lot has changed since the last time the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants faced off. That was the first game of the season for both teams and Eli Manning was the starting quarterback for the Giants. Daniel Jones is now the starting quarterback. The Cowboys beat the Giants in that game and then went on to win two more games before dropping three in a row. They then beat the Philadelphia Eagles and now sit at 4-3 at the top of their division in the NFC East. Here are my best players in this divisional matchup.

DraftKings Captain

Michael Gallup (11,100 DK Captain, 7,400 DK, and 10,500 FD)

Gallup went off against the Giants in week one. He caught seven balls for 158 yards. I do not expect him to have that many yards again but he will still have a good game. Gallup has struggled to get in the end zone this year and only has one touchdown. If Gallup can get into the end zone he will be a great value at the captain spot and allow you to afford the other stars whom I mention below.

FanDuel MVP

Saquon Barkley (11,400 DK and 14,500 FD)

Barkley was able to run all over the Cowboys defense in week one. He has averaged 129.6 yards vs the Cowboys in his career. He is by far the best playmaker on the Giants. Even if he does not get it going in the run game, look for the Giants to get him some touches in the passing attack.

Flex Players

Ezekiel Elliott (11,600 DK and 14,000 FD)

Elliott has gotten back to what we all expected him to be. In the first game against the Giants, he only had 53 rushing yards. However, he only had 13 carries in that game. That was because of his contract holdout and him missing the whole preseason. Elliott will get plenty of carries against a Giants defense that has allowed 122.4 rushing yards per game. He will get the run game going and I expect him to do his “feed me” celebration all game long.

Dak Prescott (10,400 DK and 15,000 FD)

Prescott is facing off against the Giants secondary who he has dominated in his career. He is 5-2 against them and has thrown a total of 14 touchdowns. Four of those were in week one where he just torched the secondary. He threw for 405 yards and four touchdowns in that game. Look for Prescott to keep it going and continue dominating this Giants team.

Tony Pollard (3,600 DK and 6,000 FD)

This game is tough to pick because there are so many stars that are high priced. That means you will have to find the best low priced players that will get you the most value. I am not a huge fan of picking a backup running if he is behind superstar running back. However, he has had some good chances this year having seen 19.22 percent of snaps this year. He has had a couple of touchdowns that have been negated by penalties. He should get some carries as a little change of pace to Elliott. He also could get some extra opportunities if this game is a blowout.

Game Predictions

The Giants do not have the personnel to match up with the Cowboys. There only wins have been against the 1-8 Washington Redskins and the 2-6 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cowboys should be able to handle this game pretty easily and win by a score of 31-14.

Player Predictions

Gallup: 88 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Barkley: 167 total yards and one touchdown.

Elliott: 147 total yards and one touchdown.

Prescott: 309 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Pollard: 44 rushing yards and one touchdown.
