Monday Night Football DFS Week Five: Browns vs 49ers

Brandon Braasch | October 7th, 2019

For the third time this year, the Cleveland Browns are on primetime. They travel to San Francisco to face the 49ers. Coming off their bye, the 49ers are looking to stay undefeated. Let’s see who the best players in this Monday Night showdown are.

FanDuel MVP & DraftKings Captain

George Kittle (13,500 DK Captain, 9,000 DK, and 11,000 FD)

Kittle and Jimmy Garoppolo have not been able to connect for a touchdown this year. A lot of people had high hopes for Kittle because of how good he was last year. However, Garoppolo has not been able to get things going with Kittle. Look for Kittle to break through this week with a touchdown against a Browns defense that has given up three touchdowns to tight ends this year.

Flex Players

Robbie Gould (3,800 DK and 9,500 FD)

The 49ers offense has been able to move the ball all year. Gould has gotten his chances to kick field goals. He has attempted eight field goals in three games. He has missed two but typically he is very accurate. Look for the 49ers offense to stall a couple of times, allowing Gould to score double-digit points.

Matt Breida (6,800 DK and 11,500 FD)

Picking a 49ers running back is very tough. With Tevin Coleman coming back, they have four running backs in the mix. However, Breida has been able to consistently get his carries. He has gotten double-digit carries in every game this season. Hopefully, Breida can break a long run out and score a touchdown. If they get into the red zone, it looks like Jeff Wilson Jr. will get the goal line touches.

Baker Mayfield (9,600 DK and 14,500 FD)

The Browns are coming off their best game last week. Mayfield threw for over 300 yards for the second time this year. Nick Chubb is going to struggle against one of the best rushing defenses in the league. This will force Mayfield to throw a lot in this game, racking up a lot of points.

Jarvis Landry (7,200 DK and 12,000 FD)

Landry has been targeted seven plus times in every game this year. The 49ers defense has struggled against slot receivers. They gave up 122 yards against Tyler Boyd in week two. Look for Richard Sherman to slow down Odell Beckham Jr. and Landry to be the go-to target.

Game Predictions

Look for the 49ers to start off strong and get out to a good start. The Browns start slow because they will struggle to run the football. This will force the Browns to throw the football, allowing Mayfield and Landry to get going. This will help the Browns win a high scoring game 35-30.
