Jake Ryan Signs with Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a one-year deal with linebacker Jake Ryan.

Ryan will provide the Ravens with much-needed help at the middle linebacker position. The Ravens lost Josh Bynes and Patrick Onwuasor in free agency.

The Green Bay Packers drafted Ryan in 2015. He spent most of his career with the Packers. Last year he signed a two-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the Jaguars didn’t pick up his option this offseason.

Ryan hasn’t played a defensive snap since 2017 due to injuries. In four seasons he has 213 tackles (including 15 tackles for loss), one sack, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries.

Despite the addition of Ryan the Ravens are expected to draft an inside linebacker, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN. The only inside linebackers that the Ravens have are L.J Fort, Chris Board, and Otaro Alaka. Another inside linebacker would add depth. Oklahoma’s Kenneth Murray or LSU’s Patrick Queen will probably be the  linebacker the Ravens draft.

Hopefully, Ryan can stay healthy and be a huge help to the Ravens.
