Boston College’s chances of winning slipped out of their hands at the last possible moment when the potential game-winner rimmed out at the very end of regulation, sending the game into overtime where Virginia Tech ultimately sealed the deal.

The final score was Virginia 85, Boston College 80.

BC (13-9, 3-6) 29 42 9 80

BC Junior Jerome Robinson nailed five free throws in one possession with the Eagles behind 71-64 with 1:04 to play after he was fouled attempting a three-pointer.

With the game on the line, Junior Jordan Chatman passed the ball to Jerome Robinson in the final seconds of the game. Robinson’s three-pointer from the left wing bounced out as the clock ran out, sending the game to OT.

When asked about how he thought his team played against the Hokies, Jim Christian said “We’re down 10 with under four to go, I thought our kids showed great courage, great heart… We fought to get to the overtime and had a shot to win it.”
