Devereaux’s NFL Week 7 Power Rankings

The National Football League is always full of surprises.

Teams that were looking like potential threats in Week 4 have now fallen out of the conversation, while teams who were written off early have started making their comebacks into the fray.

I had to shake up my power rankings quite a bit. The middle of the pack is so tight that any given week a team can drop from 10th on my list to 20th, or a team that is in 25th could rise to the 15th spot with a win over a good team. This year has been a roller coaster for teams as they are all trying to contend for a playoff spot.

Sorry to the Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, and Washington Redskins fans but your teams will only be fighting for that number one pick in the 2020 draft. It is very exciting to see the parody that this league is holding this year.

Now let’s get into the power rankings:

The New England Patriots (6-0) (Last Week: 1): AFC is locked for the Patriots to win, even with an injury-riddled offense.
New Orlean Saints (5-1) (Last Week: 4): Super Bowl contenders with Teddy Bridgewater, Super Bowl winners with Drew Brees.
Green Bay Packers (5-1) (Last Week: 3): One week it is Aaron Jones, the next is week is Mason Crosby.
Seattle Seahawks (5-1) (Last Week: 5): Russell Wilson will be MVP.
San Francisco 49ers (5-0) (Last Week: 8): Kyle Shanahan is a genius.
Houston Texans (4-2) (Last Week: 6): Replaced Kansas City as the little brother to the New England Patriots.
Buffalo Bills (4-1) (Last Week: 12): The biggest winners from a bye week.
Kansas City Chiefs (4-2) (Last Week: 2): This defense will not let them take the next leap.
Baltimore Ravens (4-2) (Last Week: 10): Lamar Jackson may be a future MVP for years to come.
Chicago Bears (3-2) (Last Week: 11): A quarterback away from looking like the 1985 Bears.
Carolina Panthers (4-2) (Last Week: 16): Trade Cam Newton for assets that will help get over the hump.
Minnesota Vikings (4-2) (Last Week: 17): Kirk Cousins is starting to find his way.
Dallas Cowboys (3-3) (Last Week: 9): Luckily two of their last three losses came to very good teams or they’d be lower.
Los Angeles Rams (3-3) (Last Week: 7): Everyone has figured out Sean McVay’s playbook.
Detroit Lions (2-2-1) (Last Week: 13): Tough loss to Green Bay, however, the Lions are a serious team this year.
Indianapolis Colts (3-2) (Last Week: 14): On pace to make the wild card, if the team stays healthy.
Oakland Raiders (3-2) (Last Week: 21): Raiders could be a dark horse to make the playoffs if they keep playing the way they have been of recent.
Philadelphia Eagles (3-3) (Last Week: 15): I am not buying the Eagles making the playoffs, as they are very inconsistent on offense.
Cleveland Browns (2-4) (Last Week: 19): This is what a team full of talent looks like under a rookie head coach and a young quarterback.
Jacksonville Jaguars (2-4) (Last Week: 18): If Gardner Minshew II continues his great play, what happens to Nick Foles when he comes back?
Tennessee Titans (2-4) (Last Week: 20): Are they finally switching to Ryan Tannehill, or are they throwing away this season?
The New York Giants (2-4) (Last Week: 23): A great testament to what Daniel Jones is capable of against a great defense.
Arizona Cardinals (2-3-1) (Last Week: 25): Almost blew a big lead, but Kyler Murray is growing closer to becoming a franchise quarterback.
The New York Jets (1-4) (Last Week: 29): Rejoice Jets fans!! Not only has Sam Darnold defeated Mono, he has defeated America’s team!
Pittsburgh Steelers (2-4) (Last Week: 27): Since the Steelers do not own their first-rounder anymore, it is wise to try to win as many games as possible.
Los Angeles Chargers (2-4) (Last Week: 22): A team with a veteran head coach, a future Hall of Fame quarterback and talented players all throughout their lineup, the Chargers are very disappointing.
Denver Broncos (2-4) (Last Week: 28): It would be in the Broncos best interest to start tanking their season away.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-4) (Last Week: 24): Jameis Winston is just another Josh Freeman.
Atlanta Falcons (1-5) (Last Week: 26): Dan Quinn should be replaced after this season, his time is done in Atlanta.
Washington Redskins (1-5) (Last Week: 31): Barely beat the dysfunctional Miami Dolphins, we will see you on draft-day Washington.
Cincinnati Bengals (0-6) (Last Week: 30): I think it is time to move on from Andy Dalton and A.J. Green. It is better to cash in now rather than later.
Miami Dolphins (0-5) (Last Week: 32): I have a bad feeling that Josh Rosen’s time in Miami will be over soon. The young quarterback has only been put into the worst situations since entering the league.
