The Crusaders scored 34 points in their last game, which was the second-lowest scoring output in school history after it was announced that three players—including key junior Karl Charles— were suspended by the school for an ongoing investigation.

Jehyve Floyd continued his hot streak, leading the Crusaders in scoring with 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting. The junior also added five rebounds, three assists, and four steals while playing 39 minutes. Floyd was also named Turnpike Trophy MVP for the game.

Junior guard Patrick Benzan had his first double-digit scoring game since Dec. 22 against Sienna College as he scored 15 points on 3-of-4 shooting, also knocking down 9-of-10 shots from the free throw line. Freshmen Jacob Grandison and Austin Butler also scored double-digits, scoring 14 and 11 points respectively.

The Terriers were led by Tyler Scanlon, who scored 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting. The junior forward also added eight rebounds. Senior guard Cedric Hankerson scored 11 points and led the Terriers in rebounds with nine. Sophomore forward Max Mahoney scored 10 points and earned six rebounds.

Holy Cross only managed to score one three-point shot in the game despite shooting 48 percent from the field. Boston University’s nine-rebound advantage was not enough to turn the tide, as the Crusaders continued their trend of winning despite being outrebounded.

With this Holy Cross victory, Boston University now has a 7-4 lead in the Turnpike Trophy.

The Crusaders (9-16, 6-8) are tied for seventh in the Patriot League and next face off against fellow seventh-place team Army (13-12, 6-8) at West Point on Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.

The Terriers (12-13, 8-6) are tied for third in the Patriot League and next face off against last-place American University (5-20, 2-12) away from home on Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.
