Could Stefon Diggs Fit with Patriots?

On the same day that Kirk Cousins signed a two-year extension to remain with the Vikings through 2022, Stefon Diggs has expressed his disinterest with Minnesota.

Diggs posted on Twitter this afternoon that “it’s time for a new beginning.” The Vikings’ wide receiver has stirred up much controversy involving the Vikings, expressing his lack of communication and trust with quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Diggs signed a five-year, $72 million dollar contract with the Vikings in 2018. Still having four more years at around $12 million per year, it would take a blockbuster trade and re-structuring of some contracts for the Patriots to bite on Diggs.

After signing special teamer Matthew Slater, defensive backs Jason and Devin McCourty to extensions, and franchise tagging lineman Joe Thuney, the Patriots are left with little cap space. If the Patriots want to re-sign Tom Brady and pull the trigger on Diggs, a lot would need to happen.

Anything is possible.
