Corrigan's Gambling Corner: College Football

Well, this has certainly been a wild week of basketball. There have been so many upsets and great games that it almost hides the fact that my gambling record has taken a massive hit. It’s a good thing that today is a new day and a new week. Let’s get this train rolling with some winners.

Best Bets:

Gonzaga (-14) vs. Oklahoma

When you are struggling, the best thing to do is ride a team as dominant as Gonzaga. This could be Gonzaga’s biggest test of the season, but they are just absolutely throttling teams. While they are only 5-4-1 ATS in their last 10, they constantly have to beat teams by 20-plus points to cover. On the other hand, Oklahoma is 2-8 ATS in their last 10, and they will be missing De’Vion Harmon for the second-straight tournament game due to a positive COVID-19 test. Oklahoma is still a good team without Harmon, but Gonzaga is that much better.

UCLA (-4.5) vs Abilene Christian

Abilene Christian was able to suffocate the Texas offense in their first game, causing 22 turnovers. The question here is, was it incredible defense, as they have a pretty solid defense, or was Texas panicking? Either way, it was an impressive performance. However, go with the blue-blood in this game. They are more talented, and they shoot the ball very well from deep. UCLA is the hotter team at the moment, so ride with the Bruins.

Creighton vs. Ohio (+5.5)

Nothing that Creighton did against Cal-Santa Barbra did anything to impress. Meanwhile, Ohio was able to show that their offense was enough to crack one of the best defenses in Virginia. Not only does Ohio have one of the more efficient offenses in the country, but they were also able to hold Virginia to one field goal in the last 10 minutes of the game. While Creighton was also able to hold their first-round opponent to 1-8 shooting in the last few minutes, Ohio is a much better offense. They may not win this game outright, but they will do enough to cover.

Other Bets:

Kansas vs. USC (-1.5)

Michigan (-5) vs. LSU

Florida State vs. Colorado o/140.5

Alabama (-5.5) vs. Maryland
