Corrigan’s Gambling Corner: College Football Week 14

Corrigan's Gambling Corner: College Football

The college football regular season is already beginning to wind down, which is a sad thought. However, there are still some bets to be placed. We have had a pretty good season, so let’s keep this ball rolling until the end.

Best Bets:

Ohio State 1H (-12.5) vs. Michigan State

In their four games this season, Ohio State is 3-1 in first half spreads. It’s very hard to find past 1H spreads, but I’m willing to bet (literally) that Ohio State covers the 1H spread the majority of the time. We don’t really know who will be out for Ohio State as they still deal with the fallout of their COVID-19 outbreak, but we do know that Justin Fields will be able to play, and that’s enough to beat up a very average Michigan State team.

BYU (-10) vs. Coastal Carolina

This may be the best game of the week. BYU is still searching for that statement win to finally get some respect from the playoff committee. Beating up a well-coached Coastal Carolina team will be their ticket into the top 10. Zach Wilson has finally become what his potential has shown throughout the years and is playing himself into a big payday. BYU is not just beating teams, they are throttling teams. Even against weak competition, they have been very impressive and a lot of fun to watch this season.

Auburn vs. Texas A&M (-5.5)

Folks, Auburn is not good. They had a very well-balanced team last year, but they just have no identity in 2020. Bo Nix was able to hide behind last year’s depth and the fact that he was a true freshman, but he has not been good thus far. I’m not convinced that Texas A&M can keep up with the big dogs, as evidenced by their 28-point loss to Alabama, but this is a well-rounded team. If Auburn can’t score against average defenses, they will have an especially hard time with the Aggies’ defense, too.
