Corrigan’s Gambling Corner: Back On Track

Corrigan's Gambling Corner

Welp, I finally had the worst gambling weekend of my life. My previously undefeated college football streak took a massive hit on Saturday. I took the day off yesterday so I would be sharper for today. Not only do we have two MNF games, but we also have two playoff baseball games. This is the perfect chance to get back on track.

2020 Record: 19-16

MNF Best Spread: Cheifs -10

The Cheifs completely dismantled the Ravens last Monday. They will now take on the Patriots who, unlike the Ravens, will not have their starting QB. Cam Newton is out with a positive COVID-19 test. Lucky for me, I took this game when the Chiefs were -7.5, but the Chiefs are going to beat this team up. I have no trust in the Patriots defense or Brian Hoyer. This will be too easy for the Chiefs.

MLB Best Spread: Oakland +1.5

The Oakland A’s will welcome in-division rival, the Houston Astros for the ALDS. Oakland beat up on the Astros this season, winning 7/10 in the regular season. If Oakland can keep a lead for Chris Bassitt, that bullpen should take care of the rest. The question for Houston is, can that bullpen hold on? They hold a collective 4.39 ERA and the offense has been suspect. I think Oakland is going to represent the AL in the World Series because of their depth, and they will win tonight with that depth.

Best Over: Patriots vs Chiefs O/48.5

Best Under: Houston vs Oakland U/7

The Offical “Packers are really good” Spread: Packers -6

In a shocking turn of events, the Packers take the official “Packers are really good” spread this week. Aaron Rodgers is doing things with the football that reminds me of his MVP/Superbowl contending seasons. What makes it better is they are doing it with a real motley crew of skill players. The Packers are going to win this one easily tonight.
