Memories are short among NFL fans. Many do not even recall that the Houston Texans finished the 2019 season with a division championship at 10-6 and beat an upstart Buffalo Bills team in the first round of the playoffs. Following that, they went up by 21 points in the divisional round before the eventual SBLIV Champion Kansas City Chiefs went on a rampage and sent them packing. A tumultuous offseason then erased those memories for fans outside of Texas.

Since 2017, the Packers have completely remade their secondary. This includes two first-round selections on Jaire Alexander in 2018 and Darnell Savage in 2019, as well as Josh Jackson in the second round in 2018. Let’s talk about another second-round selection though from 2017, and no, it’s not Josh Jones who the Packers cut prior to the 2019 season. Let’s talk about Kevin King and examine what his contract extension could amount to this upcoming offseason.

The expectations surrounding the Denver Broncos are very high, heading into the 2020 season. After an offseason that saw them add A.J. Bouye, Jurrell Casey, and Melvin Gordon along with wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler inthe draft, the Broncos are a team to watch. The 2019 season was a forgetful one for the Broncos as they finished 7-9 and missed the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season. Most of this was due to the ongoing quarterback carousel. Joe Flacco started the first eight games before getting injured and replaced by Brandon Allen. Ultimately, the Broncos would end the season winning four of their last five games under Drew Lock after he came off injured reserve and injected life into the Denver offense.

The Colts 2019 season was a wild one of sorts. From replacing Andrew Luck two weeks before the season, to starting 5-2 out the gate with Jacoby Brissett, to eventually miss the playoffs at 7-9 overall. Now with a new makeup on offense, along with some key players added on defense as well, this team is ready to make a strong push in the third-year under head coach Frank Reich.

The Carolina Panthers are going to be a fun team to watch moving forward. They took the risky route and hired Baylor head coach Matt Rhule away from the collegiate scene. One that he is most familiar with, Rhule doubled that down by hiring a 31-year-old coordinator to manage the offense. Let’s not forget they almost immediately signed Teddy Bridgewater to a $63 million dollar deal to become the starting quarterback of an NFL franchise. That is something he hasn’t done since 2015 when he suffered a gruesome knee injury while playing for the Minnesota Vikings. Needless to say, this will be fun.
