The Houston Rockets had a fire sale of a season. The biggest story that came from Houston was the saga of James Harden. In the 2020 offseason, it was made clear that Harden wanted out of Houston.
The Memphis Grizzlies used an incredible effort from the 2020 Rookie of the Year to earn their second-straight play-in victory, overtaking the dynastic Warriors 117-112 in the final game of the NBA’s “regular” season.
The Charlotte Hornets finished the 2020-2021 NBA season with a 33-39 record, which led them to the play-in game as the 10th seed. Although Charlotte did not make the playoffs, the team outperformed their expectations.
For the second time in less than a week, the Golden State Warriors and the Memphis Grizzlies will be playing a must-win game. In their matchup last Sunday, Stephen Curry torched Memphis for 46 points on a career-high 36 shot attempts en route to a 12 point victory for Golden State.
Head coach Steve Nash told the media on Friday that Harden and Joe Harris will not have any minutes restrictions on Saturday night in Game 1 of their first-round series against the Boston Celtics.
The Philadelphia 76ers come into this year’s postseason in the best position they’ve been in in the last 20 years. Back in 2001, their star player Allen Iverson had led them to the one-seed in the Eastern Conference. Now, MVP candidate Joel Embiid has led this team right back into the one-seed.
