Kyle Gibson is a pitcher no one is talking about. But he is a pitcher everyone should be buying and here is why.
Trevor Bauer finally broke out in 2018, posting career highs across the board before his season was cut short due to a stress fracture in his right ankle. Bauer would have likely won the Cy Young Award were it not for this injury. Due to this massive breakout, he entered the 2019 MLB season with high expectations, with many analysts forecasting another dominant season. I had Bauer as my 2019 AL Cy Young pick. The season is now two months old, and Bauer is off to a very disappointing start, leading both Indians fans and fantasy owners wondering: what is wrong with Trevor Bauer?

Max Kepler – OF Twins
As previously mentioned, the Twins are the best team in the league. The team has won ten of their last eleven, and in result, they are the only team to hold a double-digit lead in their division. This well- balanced team has outstanding pitching from Jose Berrios, Martin Perez, and Jake Odorizzi to complement a line-up that features Jorge Polanco, C.J. Cron, Eddie Rosario, our feature this week; Max Kepler. Kepler led the league this week in average (.588), Slugging (1.118), OPS (1.737), and On-base percentage (.619). The German-born son of two ballet dancers has .276 average in 2019, forty-eight points greater than for his career.

Week eight is here and some fresh power-rankings are out. This is the first installment of The Scorecrow’s top 10 power rankings. There has been some teams that have been consistent, some teams that have been disappointing, and some really surprising teams. So let’s break down the top 10.
Bill Buckner passed away yesterday at the age of 69 from Lewy Body Dementia. It is a sad day when baseball loses one of its prominent players and Buckner is no exception. 22 years in the Show and you tend to make some friends. Billy Buck had a ton.
What better way to end Memorial Day than to watch two of the best pitchers in baseball? Clayton Kershaw verse Jacob deGrom.
The Dodgers are coming off a sweep in Pittsburgh against the Pirates and looking to extend their winning streak, while the Mets are coming off a series win against the Detroit Tigers in New York. Both teams will look to stay hot, as their aces battle it out on the mound tonight.
Justin Smoak broke out a bit in 2017, hitting .270 with 38 home runs and 90 RBI. His wRC+ was a solid 133, and he looked like a guy that could be a dependable, if not exciting, option at first base for fantasy in 2018. However, he slowed a bit in 2018 instead, hitting only .242 with 25 home runs and 77 RBI. His wRC+ fell to 121, still okay but not what you wanted from a back end first baseman or corner infielder. So what happened to Smoak? Is he doomed to be just another mediocre first base option, or is there more in that bat?
We are back this week with a Memorial Day version of Buy Low/Sell High. I hope you heeded the advice from last week as Max Scherzer tossed a gem and Domingo German struggled against the Orioles and Royals. This week, we continue to identify the deals you should be making as a fantasy baseball manager.
