Emond was drafted in the 18th round of the MLB Draft in 2019, and in his minor league debut season with the Aberdeen IronBirds (Short-season Class A) Emond posted a solid 2.66 ERA, over 20.1 innings pitched, with one save. It seems that the Orioles organization is grooming him as a closer or possibly a set-up man.
