To help fantasy football players with their roster construction, three of our writers have provided some insight on which players they would start, would sit, and consider a sleeper for week nine. Be sure to follow all of them on twitter and ask any of The Scorecrow’s fantasy writers for fantasy advice.
Happy Halloween everyone! The NFL trade deadline was Tuesday and several players got moved. One of the players moved was Kenyan Drake, who will play tonight for the Arizona Cardinals. Last week’s Thursday night game was boring and I expect tonight’s game to be similar. The Cardinals are coming off a 31-9 loss to the New Orleans Saints, while the San Francisco 49ers destroyed the Carolina Panthers 51-13. Even at home, the Cardinals are massive underdogs and this game will be hard to watch, so be smart and enjoy your Halloween doing something else.
Week nine is on the horizon and that’s the halfway point of the NFL season. I hope your IDP leagues are treating you well and the defensive side of the ball has been kind to you and your team. If they are carrying you to a playoff berth then keep up the work, if you’re struggling then it’s time to get on the ball and turn things around! Remember to always reach out with any questions at any time. Let’s get into our recap from last week.
We have passed the half-way point of the season – it’s time to buck up and finish your season strong! Last week featured a couple of smash performances by Tevin Coleman and Aaron Jones. We also saw Mike Evans erupt against the Titans. This week features a bounce-back spot for a star running back who has struggled this season. On to Week 9!
It’s that time of year – the time where fantasy rosters feel stagnant and stale. I am always looking to wheel and deal in late October to help stack my lineup for the playoffs, but I’m also keeping an eye on the waiver wire for a late season gem. Guys like Jaylen Samuels last season or Tim Hightower a few years back can become late season league winners in fantasy football, you just have to pick them up.
Welcome to the Week 9 Fantasy Streamers! The Cowboys and Ravens are on bye this week, so here are some options you can use to replace at quarterback, tight end, defense/special teams, and kicker.
Well back again to go into week eight of the NFL season and you’re either sitting comfortably or barley hanging on hope to get into the playoffs. To help fantasy football players with their roster construction, three of our writers have provided some insight on which players they would start, would sit, and consider a sleeper for week eight. Last week’s Thursday night game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos wasn’t much of a contest. Despite the Chiefs losing star quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the second quarter with a dislocated kneecap, the Broncos didn’t score after the opening drive and went on to lose 30-6. Hopefully, tonight’s game between the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings is more entertaining, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
I don’t know if it was just me, but week seven felt weird. Lots of stuff happened on the offensive side that you just can’t explain. Patrick Mahomes suffered a knee injury that had fantasy owners gasping for air like a punch to the gut. Though it seems he will only miss a few weeks. Alvin Kamara didn’t play and if you didn’t stash Latavius Murray, you felt the pain from that. Then the David Johnson debacle, Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury came out after the game infuriating DJ owners saying he was only going to be used in “emergency” situations. So, Chase Edmonds had a career day while he sat on many benches like mine.
The story of week seven was the re-emergence of Aaron Rodgers as an elite fantasy quarterback. This week features an absolute smash spot for Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans. We’ll also see Kirk Cousins look to continue his hot streak in a revenge game against the Washington Redskins. We’re almost at the half-way point of the season and hopefully, you are contending in your leagues. If not, it’s time to turn the season around. On to the rankings!
In most fantasy football leagues, we’re over halfway to the playoffs. So, depending on your record, you’re either looking forward to the playoffs or you’re fighting to get in. If it’s the former, congratulations, if not, let’s get to work. The wire has one screaming candidate, but for the most part, it’s fairly slim pickings. As always, make sure to check for players who are more owned first.
