Waiver Wire Targets for Week 10

What a wild week it was. The Patriots finally lost, the Dolphins finally won, and every single home team got the win. Russell Wilson and Christian McCaffrey continued their dominant seasons while Tyler Lockett reaped the benefits of Wilson’s big day. In week 10, we have a half dozen teams on bye, so let’s look for some options on the waiver wire.

Jaylen Samuels (78%)

I mentioned Samuels last week, and he went out and shined in his first full-time stint in 2019. Samuels performed well in the role last season down the stretch, so we know he can do it. Conner’s current injury appears to be nagging him, so we could see several good weeks for Samuels on the horizon. He’s also going to cost virtually all your FAAB, which I don’t think is worth it.

DeVante Parker (36%)

Just kidding, I’ve been burned too many times to pick up Parker. But if you are looking for touchdown upside, Parker has it. Miami is typically behind and throwing a lot. With Ryan Fitzpatrick taking back over at quarterback, Parker’s upside is real. He has a touchdown in five of his last six games, plus he’s been over 50 yards receiving in four of those games. Not bad for the rest of this bye week push.

Derrius Guice (32%) & Kareem Hunt (59%)

Both players are coming back, Hunt this week, Guice next, and they’re worth the roster spots. You’ll have to hold a week or so to see what roles they each carve out, but their potential weekly ceilings are the highest of guys on the waiver wire.

Ronald Jones (41%)

I guess I’ll put Jones on the list this week. He’s not a guy I prefer to start, but he had the reigns in week nine, earning over 50% of the snaps for the first time this season. He successfully turned 20 touches in 80+ yards and a touchdown. Bruce Arians said Jones looks more explosive than Peyton Barber. If Jones earns the gig for the remainder of the season, he’s a viable flex play.

Kalen Ballage (10%)

Forced to pick someone up and can’t find anyone available? Ballage is likely to see 20+ touches this weekend, as he’s the only back left now that Kenyan Drake is in Arizona and Mark Walton is suspended. But remember Ballage kind of rhymes with garbage… so be wary. Volume doesn’t always equal fantasy points.

There isn’t much on the waiver wire this week. Hopefully, this helps you get you through the bye week.
