DraftKings Around the Horn July 26th, 2019

Plenty of games with run totals hovering around ten and eleven Friday. Ideally some exposure to Yankees and Red Sox bats is a good strategy to take but the high prices make it difficult to fit them in. The Cardinals and Twins, amongst others, offer up some interesting pivot plays to make room for pitching. Make sure to grab your scorecards, pens, and paper on this mega-slate, let’s go  Around the Horn!

Thursday’s MLB schedule opens up with three-afternoon games followed by six evening contests. The afternoon tilts feature premium pitching options in Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer at home while the evening games offer up the potential of lots of scoring with Texas/ Oakland, 9.5 implied total, Cleveland/ Kansas City, 10.5, and New York/ Boston, 11. Also, keep an eye on the L.A. Angels hosting the Baltimore Orioles and right-hander Tom Eschelman. Put on your caps and apply the sunscreen, we’re going Around the Horn!

MLB DFS: Locks, Core Hitters, BvP, and Stacks for July 23, 2019

You have to risk it to get the biscuit. You’ve heard the saying before, but when it pertains to daily fantasy lineups it can be especially pertinent. With that said, I like the Miami Marlins again tonight against Dylan Covey as a lower-owned stack. Not quite sure we can use them in cash games, but let’s take a look at some players that we can.

Yesterday was a bit rocky if you tailed me with Charlie Morton as SP1 as he was nowhere near what we wanted for a good return. The Yankees are as close to matchup-proof as they come as they got to Morton in a 5-1 victory. Tonight we will look to some of those bats in a tasty matchup at home to the Rockies and left-handed starter Kyle Freeland. More on that later, let’s get into this mega 14 gamer, let’s go Around the Horn!

Welcome back to yet another edition of Around the Horn. If you are a fan of high scoring, homer-happy baseball you are in your glory this season. The ball continues to fly out of the park at a record-breaking pace and nothing suggests that this won’t continue until the postseason. As for DFS, we don’t really care how the game plays out, as long as we pick the right players, if not, well, most of us are fans regardless. Enough of the pre-game talk, let’s burn around the bases, and go Around the Horn!

MLB DFS: Locks, Stacks, and Barrels for July 17, 2019

Pinch-hitting for your usual Wednesday Locks, Stacks, and Barrels host, I’m more than happy to attempt to help you win some cash. There are some weather concerns for this evening, so I’ve ignored players from those games. Recheck weather reports prior to setting your lineups. With that said, let’s get into this week’s edition of Locks, Stacks, and Barrels.

PGA DFS: The Open Championship Picks

Royal Portrush Golf Club located in Northern Ireland about an hour from Belfast will play host to The Open Championship for the first time since 1951. The last time it hosted a notable tournament was in 2012 for the Irish Open. The weather should play a factor, specifically the wind as it is a links course and the wind can pick up dramatically in the blink of an eye. Many golfers have high hopes heading into the final major of the year, including four-time major winner Rory McIlroy who will be returning to his homeland and a course he’s very familiar with. McIlroy set the Dunluce course record by shooting an 11-under 61 back in 2005. The course is a little different than it was then. The Dunluce links course has since been redesigned and lengthened. It is now a Par 71, 7,344 yards. Adding to the excitement, there’s expected to be record setting crowds as The Open has sold out for the first time in its 148-year history. The stage and tee times are set for one of the biggest events in Northern Ireland history. With that said, let’s get into some golfers to target for DFS to help win us some cash.

MLB DFS: Tough Tuesday Picks for July 16, 2019

When I first looked at the pitchers lined up for tonight’s full boat of games, I may or may not have vomited in my mouth a little bit. With this many games, you wouldn’t expect it to be such a struggle to find good pitching, from a fantasy perspective at least. The pitching we would normally pay for at certain ranges is priced ridiculously high because of the lack of pitching overall. Nothing against Lance Lynn, because he’s been terrific so far this season, but when he’s the highest-priced pitcher on Draftkings, you know it’s going to be an uphill battle and similar to pulling teeth to put together some solid lineups. The best advice I can give, don’t watch any of these guys actually pitch. Not because they are terrible pitchers, but because you will drive yourself crazy. Watch the games you have hitters from unless there is some correlation between the two and then I don’t know what to tell you. I’m sorry suffer away. Now, let’s get into the toothaches and picks for tonight’s games. Excuse me. Locks and Stacks.

MLB DFS: Monday Money Plays and Stacks for July 15, 2019

Welcome back. It’s been a little over a week since I’ve last written a DFS article but hopefully, the winning hasn’t stopped for you. The All-Star break was much-needed for me personally, but I’m very excited to be back full force, ready to drop some knowledge that may help drop some dollars into our accounts. With that said, let’s get right into the Monday Money Plays and Stacks for tonight’s games.
