Well, this is it. This is what we’ve all been waiting for. NFL football is back baby! Of course, we had the Chicago versus Green Bay game on Thursday night to kick off the season, but that was simply a tease. A low scoring defensive battle with one touchdown over the course of the game. Sure, it was a good football game (not the outcome I wanted being a Bears fan), but not at all what fantasy players were hoping for either. There will be a lot more action and points today, guaranteed. Cash games have been an area we can find an edge when it pertains to daily fantasy football. Every year new players jump aboard the always rolling DFS train. Luckily for you, most of the new players will be applying what they know about season-long fantasy into DFS. That’s not a terrible strategy, but it can lead to bad habits or skipping over important details. By putting in the extra effort and taking in as much as you can, you’re already winning. With all of that said, let’s kick off this season the right way. Take a stroll with me and look at some options to target for Week 1 DFS Cash Games.
The baseball season is a grind. It’s every single day. We will approach DFS the same way and be winners at the end of the season even if we have our hot streaks and slumps. Every day there are safe bets that flop and values that hit big,Β but we need to stick with our strategy in evaluating and playing. Let’s take a look at what we have today.
DraftKings really outdid themselves for this opening Thursday showdown slate. As soon as I went to the lobby, I saw, right at the very top of the page, the $10 entry $2.5 Million Kickoff Thursday Millionaire Tournament. It’s a 150 Entries Max Multi-Entry Tournament. The contest pays out the top 62,500 lineups with the top prize winning $1 million. What better way to kickoff the NFL season than a Chicago Bears versus Green Bay Packers rivalry game and a whole bunch of money up for grabs. So, as we will be doing all season long here at The Scorecrow, let’s dive into some of my favorite options for tonight’s game.
Just seven games to break down in MLB DFS tonight. Stephen Strasburg is the number one pitcher option in a tough matchup at Atlanta after that is a whole bunch of mediocrity. A strategy that may be popular will be rostering two mid-tier pitchers to go along with some higher-priced bats. Minnesota will face Nathan Eovaldi at Fenway, the Rays get a home matchup against Trent Thornton and the Jays, and the ‘Stros will look to tee off at home against Marco Gonzalez and the Mariners. Let’s “Step into a Slim-Jim” and go Around the Horn!
The calendar has flipped over to September, the kids are back to school and summer days are about to turn into crisp, cooler days. Heck, I kinda like it as I was just out for some tennis and felt like the coolness gave me some extra energy. This, of course, has nothing to do with what brings you, the reader, here. Let’s dig into this somewhat un-inspiring eight-game nightcap before I start talking about the weather again. Twins at Red Sox, 11 runs implied total/ Tigers at Royals, 9.5/Β Rockies at Dodgers, 9.5 are our games to target for bats. By now you know the drill, tell grandma, we’re going Around the Horn!
All of the madness and talk is swirling around the beginning of football season and understandably so, but the baseball season is still very much in full swing and actually just starting to heat up even more. Now that we’ve made it to September, the playoff picture is really beginning to take shape and it will be a wild final few weeks of regular season play. Many of you are still taking part in last-minute fantasy football drafts (I know because I am also). But why can’t we have our cake and eat it too? Let’s take a look at some players to target for tonight’s slate of games. Hopefully, this will help save you some time, allow you to set your lineups, and get back to your football research.

A more simplistic slate awaits us for Thursday night as we have just six games to breakdown. Just like last night, Colorado appears to be where high scoring is most likely to occur. The Texas Rangers are at home againstΒ Felix Hernandez and the Seattle Mariners, and the Los Angeles Dodgers will visit the Arizona Diamondbacks. These games appear to have the best potential for higher scoring. Grabs some peanuts and a frosty beverage, we’re going Around the Horn!
We will get to pitching momentarily, first up is a glance at the highest implied run totals for today’s 11 game evening slate. A massive run line of 14 runs easily leads the way as the Boston Red Sox, who all the sudden are running along very nicely(8-3 in their last 11), visit Coors Field and the Colorado Rockies. Twins, White Sox are at 10.5, Rangers and Angels as well as Pirates, Phillies are both set at 10 and the Indians/ Tigers chime in at 9.5. Let’s break down some picks, hop on board, we’re going Around the Horn!
Another huge slate of games on tap for this Tuesday night. There’s a game being played at Coors Field and a ton of other juicy match-ups. Let’s take a look at some options to help us bring home some cash.
Let’s start this week off with a bang. None of the excess fat and all of the substance. Let’s get right into the top picks and stacks for tonight’s main slate of games.
