There is a full slate of action for the UFC on ESPN 9 Saturday night. Here is a breakdown on all the action and some tips on how to try to bet on the action.
Brian Flores and the ageless Ryan Fitzpatrick dragged this team to a 5-4 record after starting the season 0-7. Personally, I think that says a lot about Flores and the way some of these guys respond to his coaching style. Although I wasn’t a big fan of their draft, it looks like they’re headed in the right direction, and Flores is the man to right the ship.
The Carolina Panthers are going to be a fun team to watch moving forward. They took the risky route and hired Baylor head coach Matt Rhule away from the collegiate scene. One that he is most familiar with, Rhule doubled that down by hiring a 31-year-old coordinator to manage the offense. Let’s not forget they almost immediately signed Teddy Bridgewater to a $63 million dollar deal to become the starting quarterback of an NFL franchise. That is something he hasn’t done since 2015 when he suffered a gruesome knee injury while playing for the Minnesota Vikings. Needless to say, this will be fun.
Matt Patricia seems like a lost cause as a head coach. Former star Damon “Snacks” Harrison has stated in the past that he couldn’t wait to just get out of Detroit because of Patricia. Darius Slay shared the same sentiment after he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. If it wasn’t for Patricia, I’d pick this team to take a huge next step.
The third card in seven days and this never gets old. This card has some sleeper potential with a lot of young fighters. Rodrigo Nascimento, Dan Ige, Anthony Hernandez, and Marlon Vera all stand out. There’s a lot of fights with close lines, tipping us off to what should be a really competitive night. You may not recognize all the names but we are in for a good one.
Lamar Jackson took the league by storm last year with electricity. He won the MVP pretty handily after accounting for 43 total touchdowns, 1,200 rushing yards, and 3,127 passing yards. He embraced the city and they’ve embraced him back. The Ravens have their quarterback and star of the future, and they’ve surrounded him with talent. I expect this team to compete for the Super Bowl and win more than 11 games. Here are five bold predictions that I think will help make that happen.
Two UFC cards in five days? Sign me up. Dana White has gone all out and managed to land a card for a Wednesday ESPN+ event that looks to be stacked with recognizable talent. Much like UFC 249, this event will take place in Jacksonville, Florida at the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena. This card is headlined by legendary light heavyweight Glover Teixeira and recent title contender, Anthony Smith. I expect complete chaos throughout the card, shedding more positive light on the UFC as they continue to pump out entertainment.
Last season was an absolute disaster and Dan Snyder finally sent Bruce Allen packing. After firing Allen, Snyder told the entire interim coaching staff and some front office members to follow him out the door. During the coaching search, Allen had one guy in mind. A coach with great character and vision with ambitious. That coach was Ron Rivera, who takes pride in coaching discipline football. I would expect the Redskins to improve in 2020.
Finally! We get an actual sporting event that you can bet on. At this point, I’m sure people are just excited to watch live sports action. These bouts will take place at Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Dana White really spruced this card up with high-level talent. I think there are some really good underdog spots to attack from a sports betting angle. As always, there’s definitely value to be had within the fight props.
30% of the NFL is made up of undrafted free agents. The journey is just getting started for these guys. At this point, the mindset has to be that it doesn’t matter where you were drafted. You made it past the tough part, the part where you need to be given the opportunity. Now it’s time to showcase the skills that got you here.
Steve Seufert| May 4th, 2020 What better way to welcome Mike McCarthy to Dallas than re-signing Amari Cooper? That could be a rhetorical question until
