Week four of the NFL season is off to a good start as the Thursday night game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers was a close and entertaining contest. If half of the games on Sunday are as good as Thursday night’s, NFL and gambling fans are in for a great day of football.
In tonight’s game, the Philadelphia Eagles travel to Green Bay to take on the 3-0 Packers in a game some are calling a must-win for the Eagles. Unlike the past few Thursday Night games, this one should be entertaining and very fantasy friendly. There are several players I would feel comfortable playing in tonight’s game but first let’s take a look at my predictions from last week.
Yesterday the New England Patriots released Antonio Brown and the spread dropped half a point; no surprise there as the New York Jets are starting their third string quarterback. However, it’s week three and another chance to make some cash. To recap last week, Mike was 7-8 ATS and was a flawless 3-0 on his favorite bets. Meanwhile, Gio was 9-6 ATS but just 1-2 on his favorite bets. In total, we both went 10-8 on our 18 bets from last week (55.5% hit rate). However, neither of us are professional gamblers nor know everything there is to sports betting, but it’s always fun to have some money on the line when watching the games so let’s see how we do in week three.
I’ll be the first to admit when I’m wrong and last Thursday I was awful with my fantasy takes. My bad, hopefully, I’m better this week. Good news is if you’re a fan of low scoring and tough defense, this game is for you. For the rest of us, it’s the perfect game to waste on a Thursday night. The Tennessee Titans travel to Jacksonville to take on their division rival Jaguars in a battle of run-first offenses.
Week two of the NFL season wasn’t a friendly one for the Pittsburgh Steelers or New Orleans Saints. Both teams lost their starting quarterback for several weeks or longer and both team’s playoff chances look slim as the Saints are a missed field goal away from joining the Steelers at 0-2. For fantasy owners who now have to replace Drew Brees and Ben Roethlisberger, streaming the quarterback position is your best way to replace your top quarterback. As part of this week’s streamers, I will give you a few options to replace the two future Hall of Famers.
In May of 2018, the Supreme Court ruled that the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act violated the Constitution’s 10th Amendment. Without boring you guys with all the legal terms and meaning, it simply means each state can allow sports gambling if they wish. Since then sports betting has exploded, along with daily fantasy. Everyone has a different strategy when it comes to drafting their fantasy team. Some like to go “zero RB”, while others like to use the best player available approach. While there isn’t necessarily a correct way to draft your team, every fantasy expert will recommend to build up your running back depth in the middle rounds. Each year there is a running back that gets drafted in the middle rounds that turns out to be a plug and play starter for fantasy owners. In this fantasy battle, we will take a look at two potential options currently going in the eighth round according to Fantasy Football Calculator.
Almost every year, fantasy owners picking early in the first round target bell cow running backs as they are worth their weight in gold. This year there are four running backs in that group: Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, Alvin Kamara, and Ezekiel Elliott. A month ago, these four running backs were being drafted all in the top four picks according to Fantasy Football Calculator. However, since Zeke is currently holding out, his ADP has dropped down a little to 1.05 and is the fifth player being taken on average, behind the other three running backs and DeAndre Hopkins.

To the average NFL fan, the preseason might be boring, but to dynasty fantasy football players, this is the time of the year to evaluate your deep bench. In their second year under Sean McVay, the Rams finished tied for the best record in the league at 13-3. The offense averaged 32.9 points per game, second in the league, while star defensive lineman Aaron Donald won the Defensive Player of the Year award. With a great balance on offense and a forceful defense, the Rams made it to Super Bowl 53 verse the New England Patriots, but the journey didn’t come without controversy. In the NFC Championship game verse the New Orleans Saints, there was a clear no called passing interference late in the game that potentially impacted the outcome of the game. However, the Rams won that game but lost to the Patriots 13-3 in Super Bowl 53.
Coming off a very disappointing 2017 season, where franchise quarterback Andrew Luck didn’t take a single snap as he recovered from a complex shoulder injury, the Indianapolis Colts’ started the 2018 season 1-6, including an overtime loss to the Houston Texans. However, Luck shook off the year long rust and the defense picked it’s game up around Defensive Rookie of the Year, Darius Leonard. The Colts to won nine of their last 10 games, including a win over the Tennessee Titans on the final night of the regular season. With a 10-6 record, the Colts got the final wild-card spot in the AFC and defeated the Texans 21-7 in the first round of the playoffs, but fell to the Kansas City Chiefs the next weekend, losing 31-13.
