As of 4 PM ET, the NFL’s trade deadline day has finally come and gone. Did your team trade for that star player you wanted, or maybe they let go of that player whose jersey you own? Going into Monday night’s game against the Chicago Bulls, the Golden State Warriors Guard Klay Thompson was in a shooting slump to start the season. He was averaging just 15 points per game on 15 shots and had yet to reach the 20-point mark in a game so far this season, but all that changed with just one quarter played in Chicago.
The Los Angeles Clippers have been quietly playing good basketball. They are currently 4-2, including wins against the Thunder and the Rockets (twice). This team plays with a lot of heart, led by Patrick Beverly’s defense, Tobias Harris and Lou Williams’ offense; they have been finding ways to win games.
The fantasy playoffs are quickly approaching. This season is really flying by! Week 9 brings more bye weeks and some prominent players and defenses to cover for. Let’s check it out. But first, like always, last week’s recap.
Well, it’s been a busy day for the Cleveland Browns organization. After three years of constantly losing, even when the team probably shouldn’t have been based on talent, the team had decided to part ways with head coach Hue Jackson.
So, with the opening fortnight of the NBA coming to a close, we have already learned a few things for the rest of the upcoming season: the Golden State Warriors are still the dominant team in the league, the Utah Jazz can compete with the big boys in the West, Kawhi Leonard will take control of the East, and the Houston Rockets have started with a little uncertainty.
The first six games of the 2018 season are in the books, and the Brooklyn Nets have shown considerable improvement from a season ago.

The Cleveland Cavaliers like to play the blame game and the latest scapegoat is Tyronn Lue. The now former head coach of the Cavs has done a lot for this organization and it really is not fair to point the finger at him for this bad start, since there is not much anybody could do with this roster and situation.
The Denver Nuggets, riding the momentum of a 4-0 start, were looking to continue their strong early-season form. Meanwhile, the Lakers had just picked up win No.1 the previous before. The effects of the big fight in the Rockets game were still being felt by the Lakers as significant players remained suspended. This encounter provided some great entertainment and fun, with the 72 million people who tuned in to watch being treated with a close finish.
Week 8 in the NFL is here, which means the season is halfway over already. That is something no football fan wants to hear, but that is the reality we live in today. Atlanta, Dallas, Tennessee, and the L.A. Chargers are all idle this week. Let’s see who can replace the big names of Julio Jones, Ezekiel Elliott, Melvin Gordon, and others.
